Katie and Rob's Winvian Wedding

Katie and Rob's wedding was a stunning weekend-long affair on the gorgeous grounds of Winvian in Morris, Connecticut, a truly unique and special place. We were delighted to be a part of Katie and Rob's special day and are excited to share some of the highlights with you.

The couple planned every last detail of their spectacular wedding weekend to perfection, with the help of Winvian and Lisa Light, wedding planner and author of Destination Bride: A Complete Guide to Planning Your Wedding Anywhere in the World. Their guests never had a dull moment from Friday night to Sunday brunch, thanks to the many activities provided by the Winvian team. 

The itinerary for the weekend was displayed on a whimsical map with starting and finishing points. During their stay, guests were given the opportunities to take a canoeing trip, ride in a hot air balloon, and play field games.  These activities are just some of the features that make the Winvian experience truly unique and unforgettable.

Saturday, the day of Katie and Rob's wedding, included a lovely ceremony and a gorgeous reception set in the rustic barn on the Winvian property. The couple's evening even included a private fireworks show, put on just for the bride and groom and their guests!

Katie was the perfect client, because she wanted what we are best known for: a beautiful, spectacular, and delicious wedding cake.  Even better, she put complete trust in Ana to further develop her vision and bring it to life; we savored the chance to create a five-tiered wedding cake covered in beautiful white roses and calla lilies hand-crafted from gumpaste. It was important that the cake stand out in the large reception room, but still maintain a look of elegance.

We were particularly thrilled to have the chance to work with not only Winvian, but also Jacklyn Greenberg and her team from JAG Studios.  For years we had been eager to work with them; Jacklyn is a true artist and one of the rising stars in photography, not only in the US but worldwide.  Her work speaks for itself.
