We were commissioned to create this fun & modern wedding cake in Connecticut, for the photoshoot of the cover story of this year's
Bliss Magazine, a fabulous wedding and event resource guide based in Rhode Island.
Like always, we love the challenge and of course creating new wedding cake designs, and I was especially glad to be working with a team of wedding pros!
Candice Coppola of
Jubilee Events came up with a preppy chic wedding Palm Beach theme, complete with pineapples and bright orange, pink and gold colors.
Diane Gaudett, a super talented wedding custom floral designer, created the lush and beautiful blooms that stood out against the white neutral canvas of
The Loading Dock, a contemporary wedding and event venue in Stamford, Connecticut.
The knock out paper goods and invitations were carefully crafted by
Coral Pheasant Stationery + Design. All the wedding fashion styling was expertly curated by Beth Chapman from
The White Dress By The Shore, who happens to be celebrating 10 years in business! The flawless make-up was done by another Connecticut wedding, pro
Jennie Fresa, and the beautiful hair styles by
Catie Bane.
Most people probably don't realize how much work and coordination goes into putting together a photoshoot like this. The delicious catering bites and drinks were provided by Emily's Catering; all the unique furniture, bar, chandeliers and rentals were provided by
Ryan Designs; and last but not least, wonderful photography by
Carla Ten Eyck and team, without whom we couldn't be showing all this!

We wanted the wedding cake to look pretty inside and out, so we tinted the citrus layers in pink and orange and filled them with delicious coconut mousseline!
