Wedding Dress Inspired Wedding Cake | Purple & White Wedding Cake | Inn At Longshore Wedding

Ana always encourages her brides to bring visuals representing their style, and anything that relates to their wedding, such as fabric swatches, flowers, invitation, etc. Visuals are important in order to show Ana, your vision and personal details you might want included in your wedding cake design.
Some brides bring swatches of their dress fabric and/or lace, or an image of their wedding dress.

The details of a beautiful wedding dress often inspire Ana to mimic a certain look onto the custom cake.  In this case, the delicate lace pattern from the bride's dress.

For this early Fall wedding cake, Ana mirrored the subtle floral designs of the bride's lace on her dress onto the custom wedding cake by using one of her signature techniques: brushed embroidery.

Brushed embroidery is a very labor intensive wedding cake decorating technique. First the pattern has to be piped with thin royal icing using a very fine tip, tracing around the design, then using a soft brush the icing is made smooth. The last step is to paint the whole design with an edible pearl dust to add dimension.

By adding handcrafted sugar flowers in different shades of purple, Ana incorporated Annalies' wedding colors into the wedding cake design.
